  5. Berlyn imported the Tenmile in Sn3.If you're just talking about the pilot Wiseman Model Services might have them or know where to get them.According to the Mason Bogie Masterclass articles the pilots on the Bogies were a little bit different from other pilots in that the slats had a taper in them.

  6. Theo Berlyn has any extra castings - last I knew. And, in fact, I obtained several from him. And not just Pilots. But I haven't talked to him for several years. Brass castings are a bit of a conundrum They cost plenty to make (masters and lost wax process, etc.) not to mention keeping stock and marketing. There are a few of us who actually know what to do with them once we obtain them. But we are hardly a market! So. We don't see brass castings like we use to...

What ever happened to the old Tomalco line? It's spelled r-e-a-d-y t-o r-u-n....

    1. I believe that Cliff Mestel of Trout Creek Engineering and BK track products is producing them now.He also has his own line of DSP&P cars and structures.

    2. I believe Cliff produces the parts that pertain to the D&RGW car. Who makes the Locomotive parts such as C&S Baldwin Domes? Who produces the steam chests and cross head parts. Where are these meat and potato parts such as driver centers and smoke box fronts?

  7. I echo Derrell's comments. I haven't seen Theo in years. Given his experiences in the hobby I can certainly understand why he would want to put some space between himself and the industry. I picked up what castings I could from him and continue to do so whenever the opportunity arises. The process for making masters and having them cast up (and cast up properly) is very expensive and time consuming -BUT- if you are serious about your models, the end result can justify the means. The old Tomalco line focused on the D&RGW/RGS. I remember talking to Swede about the line way back and he wanted to expand the line but he passed away. He always tried to keep his products affordable and I know he sold some of his castings at a loss. A true pioneer. Still, there were some useful parts for us DSP&P modelers but not many!
