Many readers are correct about what goes on behind the scenes of the blog. L to R: Derrell P., Doug H., Darel L.
What's a dog supposed to do with those three clowns besides posting vintage photographs to occupy their time?

    B-25,

a question about this car has been bugging me for years. Did it originate from the incarnation of the car shown on pg 87 of Mal Ferrell's book, The South Park Line? All I have found about it was that it originally was a DSP&P boxcar. And then the lookalike 089 that was supposed to have been the B-3? Where does that fit in the picture?

    1. Don't you mean #025?Under the C&S it became 013,later B-3,and then 912.It was converted to water inspectors car 089 and dismantled in 1940.There was an article about it in one of the Narrow Gauge Annuals as well as a construction article featuring a model of 089.Bogies and the Loop has a copy of this photo pp14-15 of the July2014 issue and its companion photo pp14-15 of the April2014 issue.Hayes Hendricks' DSP&P/CC/C&S Passenger Car website has info on it under second 025 in the DL&G section.I found his material on the Railway Engineering DSP&P Site.It has been suggested that the car was converted from DSP&P Boxcar 515,but Hendricks suggested that it was 02515 which Rudnick lists as a wrecking tool car(formerly 0724).The car possibly could be the one shown in Kiersey's photo showing Hancock depot, the car,and a Nesmith stacked Baldwin Consolidation as the car has almost identical window spacing. The writer of the Annual article believed it was.

    3. Very good Brother d. And correct dog grammar too. They are behind the depot as there are no indoor facilities.

  3. Before anyone goes and calls these fellows 'lushes,' note that they are sitting on crates of Ginger Ale. Though the bottles don't seem to match.

    1. Having met all three D, I wouldn't describe any of them as luscious.

I've never noticed the 025's stand-off Marker brackets before either.

Right-clicking and opening in a new window brings up a way better enlargement than just clicking the picture :) (in case you didn't know)

      Fancy equalising bars to boot.

    2. Roper just told me he is quite disappointed that no one has noticed in the reflection of the 025, there can be seen Italian stone masons putting the Como depot in place with a big hook which they had just moved over from King.
Keith; those are just the crates we happen to be sitting on. The bottles are 100 proof.

    5. Because we've already drank them. And yes, Central City.

    6. I think Roper left his paw prints on the photo.

  4. As you can see, a closer examination of the Dome Rock photo reveals another interesting detail
